Invitations to nominate suitable persons were sent to several potential candidates during past two years. By God's grace, the Committee recommended Rev. Dr. David Doong (董家驊牧師) to the board of directors' with one accord. The Mid-term Board of Directors' Meeting was held on March 11-12, 2019 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. After careful consideration and seeking God's will, the Board of Directors unanimously consent Rev. Dr. David Doong as the 7th General Secretary. The inauguration ceremony will be held in the 10th (2021) Chinese Congress on World Evangelization.
Rev. Dr. David Doong was born in 1981 in Taiwan and his ancestral home is Wenzhou, Zhejiang. He was raised and educated in Taiwan and later went to Fuller Theological Seminary for his Master of Divinity and Ph. D. in Theology. His theological standing, research achievements and ministry experience are outstanding. He has set personal examples in teaching, caring and contributing in Great Commission and Discipleship-Driven Cross-Cultural Mission. We are happy to have Rev. Dr. Doong as next General Secretary and we believe that he can drive the CCCOWE Movement to scale new heights in the years ahead.
